Kilkenny 16.8 m. skyrė beveik 2021 mln. eurų kelių finansavimui.

Almost €16.8m in funding for Kilkenny roads has been granted by the Minister for Transport for 2021.

The breakdown of the grant sees €8,328,000 going towards improvement works with €1,392,500 for restoration maintenance.  Complete breakdown as follows:

In addition, funding in the sum of €35,000 has been allocated for Thomastown Culvert Remedial Contract,  €200,000 for Bridge Rehabilitation Works, €373,000 for Safety Improvement Works and €400,000 for former National Roads.

Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council, Cllr. Andrew McGuinness, on hearing the announcement said:  “This funding will enable improvement works to be carried out to roads across the City and County with additional funding allocated for bridge rehabilitation works, specific improvement grant and safety improvement worksI am delighted to welcome this 2021 investment as it will go a long way to improving and maintaining the quality road network that is so important to Kilkenny business and tourism sectors"
